Health, Safety & Environment

At Aircelle - as with all of the SAFRAN Group - providing the best in health, safety and environmental protection are corporate objectives with the same importance as technological and financial performance.

Aircelle’s priorities include the identification of all material, products and procedures that could have a negative impact on any of these three areas - and the replacement or modification of operations when appropriate.

The company works to anticipate potential risks - beginning at the design phase for its products, processes and facilities, and it performs risk analyses to correct any weaknesses that may be identified.

Aircelle’s research efforts, carried out jointly with the rest of the SAFRAN Group, include themes such as acoustics (to reduce the noise impact of aircraft on the environment) and aerodynamics (to reduce aircraft fuel consumption).

Health and work safety

Ensuring the health and safety of employees is one of Aircelle’s top responsibilities.

Every aspect of production at the company’s various facilities is audited with the goal of identifying any potential risks and resolving them. Overall safety procedures in production areas are audited each month during regular factory reviews.

For the past five years, the Aircelle production department has followed the S5 plan - which is designed to create a good working environment for personnel and to motivate self-discipline in the safety and cleanliness of the factory floor.

In areas where the type of production activity could lead to accessibility challenges for workers, Aircelle’s medial specialist can become involved in the conception of new shop floor work stations, as well as provide input for the modification of existing ones.

Environment

In the framework of the SAFRAN Group’s Action V program, Aircelle adheres to strict environmental protection rules based on ISO 14001 norms, with an emphasis on the following:

- Pollution prevention
- Continuous improvement of the company’s environmental performance
- Regular, strict audits of Aircelle facilities

Aircelle’s Le Havre, France facility — the company’s largest industrial site — has already received its ISO 14001 certification.

Major environmental protection actions practiced by Aircelle include energy management, the control of water waste, minimization of atmospheric releases and prevention of ground pollution.
