Aircelle masters the expertise for design, development and manufacture of a wide range of engine nacelles, and nacelle packages that are used by leading aircraft manufacturers and airlines worldwide.
The company’s highly skilled workforce brings extensive experience in structural design and certification, configuration control, aerodynamics and thermodynamics, repair scheme development and damage tolerance. Aircelle is the SAFRAN Group’s centre of excellence for composites. Its facilities include 200,000 sq. ft. dedicated to the production of composite parts, 50,000 sq. ft. of clean rooms, and 15 autoclaves with a maximum diameter of 16 ft. Flight safety As our nacelles and systems are flight safety-critical equipment, the quality and performance of all Aircelle hardware is of top priority to every employee. Decisions in the design, development, production and maintenance/overhaul of our products are taken to ensure the highest flight safety standards, without concession.
The PERT reverser is Aircelle’s answer to market needs for a lightweight and efficient system when both core flow and fan flow reversal is required — typically on business jets with rear fuselage-mounted engines. PERT retains the best characteristics of Aircelle’s highly successful two-door forward reversing system, which was introduced in 1986 and is fitted on engines powering the Gulfstream V, Bombardier Global Express and Embraer ERJ 145/135 aircraft. During cruise flight, PERT (the acronym for Planar Exit Rear Target) retains a very smooth aerodynamic profile. In reverse thrust, PERT provides performance similar to the two-door forward design — with wide beams providing a very efficient directional control to the reverse flow. Comparing like-for-like technology with competing designs, PERT yields 10 percent reductions in weight and cost. Expertise:
