Aerostructures
In its aeronautical component activity, Aircelle is putting the emphasis on further developing its expertise in composite materials - a key to its core nacelle business. Aircelle produces aeronautical components and aerostructures for some of the world’s largest - and most demanding - customers, including Airbus, Boeing, Dassault, Eurofighter, Eurocopter, Pratt & Whitney, Rolls-Royce and Snecma.
Aircelle offers solutions that are optimum in terms of cost and weight, and which satisfy the most stringent requirements (damage tolerance, noise attenuation, radioelectric transparency, reduction of infrared signature, etc. Parts for civil and military aircraft engines Its extensive knowledge in the design and production of composite materials has positioned Aircelle as the SAFRAN Group’s center of excellence for composite engine parts used on both civil and military aircraft. Aircelle has demonstrated its capability to develop and manufacture all types of components — from high-temperature composites in the outer duct and inner flow path of fighter jet engines to press-molded outlet guide vanes on the CFM56. Engine parts produced by Aircelle include acoustic panels, outlet guide vanes, labyrinth seals and intake cones for the CFM56 family of powerplants; intake cones for the Snecma M53 and outlet ducts for the Snecma M88 combat aircraft engines; acoustic panels for Pratt & Whitney’s PW4000; sensor guide tubes for Rolls-Royce on the EJ2000 military powerplant, along with outer bypass ducts and inner fan ducts for the Rolls-Royce AE3007. Aerostructures Aircelle specializes in full composite, hybrid metallic/composite and metallic structures, providing optimized solutions for the most stringent specifications. Its large, lightweight structures include belly fairings for the A340-500/600, the main and nose landing gear doors for the A340-600 and the nose landing gear doors for the A330 and A340-200/300. It also includes upper-deck cowling, exhaust deflectors and firewalls for the NH90 helicopter, radome structures for the Rafale combat aircraft, and components for NH90 and Tiger helicopter (racks, electric bays). |
