Aircelle’s team wins the quadrathlon race for Le Havre-based companies

July 7, 2010

The 15th quadrathlon race for Le Havre-based companies was won by Aircelle’s team, which was victorious over those representing 23 other businesses from the area.

For Aircelle’s second participation in this event – held in June – the company’s team captured the quadrathlon cup with a time of 1 hr. 29 min. 09 sec., which was a lead of 51 seconds over the second-place team.

Aircelle’s team was composed of Sébastien Guillemant, an engineer in the nacelle design bureau; Frédéric Boubila, an acoustic engineer in the technical directorate; Jean-Bernard Grancher, an A320 nacelle program technician; and Anthony Mercier, who handles layup work on the A380 nacelle program. Bernard Allix also participated as the team’s race coordinator.

The quadrathlon’s four elements involved canoeing, an all-terrain bicycle segment, a foot race and a run-and-bike segment.

Elements contributing to the win included Aircelle’s experience from its initial participation in last year’s event, along with training preparations for this year’s race. This was bolstered by the advice of kayak expert Romain Billault and the support of team back-up member Nicolas Hillereau.

The race’s victory once again underscores the capabilities and dedication of Aircelle’s employees in all of their undertakings.
